About

Hi! Welcome to my blog. My name is Blessie Adlaon. I am a Filipino work-at-home mom.

I used to hold a full-time job, first, as a public school teacher, then as editor at a Swiss company that teaches English to European learners.

In 2010, I took a homebased writing job because I felt I needed to be at home to properly raise my headstrong daughter. Yes, we had a yaya (nanny), but she could only keep my child alive and healthy. Discipline was a little beyond her pay grade.

So I became a work-at-home mom. (That's the one-sentence summary. Click here for the full story.)

In 2011, I decided to form a small business: Escrive Writing and Editing. So now I have a small team of wonderful writers and editors who help me do my work, which means I have more time to homeschool our school-age kids (or at least, talk to them).

About This Blog

I started this blog to share my extra-income and work-at-home leads, as well as homeschooling information, money management tips, and parenting notes, with other Filipino moms.

This blog talks about local concerns and local opportunities. You will never need a U.S. address, a dollar account, or relatives abroad to use the information you find here.
